Connecting People and Wildlife for a Better Future.

WHAT
WE DO
For us at Wild Connection, passion meets purpose. Our mission is to foster a more harmonious relationship between humanity and the natural world. As a not-for-profit organization, we are have three pillars: conservation research, STEAM education, and community engagement. Through cutting-edge research initiatives, we strive to understand and protect fragile ecosystems, ensuring the preservation of biodiversity for generations to come. Our commitment extends to empowering minds through innovative STEAM education programs, inspiring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and conservationists. We also believe in the strength of community, fostering connections between people and nature through immersive experiences, events, and outreach efforts. At Wild Connection, we envision a future where humans coexist sustainably with the planet, driven by curiosity, compassion, and a profound respect for all living beings.
Our Programs: Wildlife & People
At Wild Connection, we develop and implement programs that integrate wildlife conservation with community engagement. Our initiatives are designed to foster sustainable relationships between humans and nature, addressing environmental challenges through education, research, and collaborative action. At the heart of every project we initiate is a commitment to protecting people and wildlife, empowering students to become strong leaders, and supporting communities to address the challenges they are facing.

We conduct field-based studies focusing on endangered species and their habitats. Our research informs conservation strategies and promotes biodiversity. We currently have research projects in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) in Uganda. From mountain gorilla genetics to the impact of microplastics on wildlife in both parks, we believe that applied research is critical to guiding conservation and management policy.

Our educational programs aim to raise awareness about environmental issues and inspire action. We collaborate with schools and communities to deliver interactive learning experiences. We utilize innovative approaches from sports and music to art and film to inspire students to become agents of change in their communities
Community Engagement

Communities around the globe are battling the accumulation of plastic waste. In Uganda alone 600 million tons of plastic waste are produced every day. Although awareness exists and many places are making strides in reducing single plastic use waste and advancing recycling initiatives, marginalized communities commonly experience poorer environmental conditions, from pollution to weak infrastructure to manage waste. Education alone is not enough to begin addressing the waste management challenges these communities face.
